VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: WAVERLY'S KITTLE, ROBINSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-08-31)

THE VALLEY — Waverly senior Mira Kittle qualified for States in her first two events of the season, and her classmate Cooper Robinson played an instrumental role in the Wolverines' win over Troy. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Aug. 30.

Kittle, who won four events in Waverly's season-opening win over Norwich, swam the anchor on Waverly's 200-medley relay that opened the meet with a school-record time, which also beat the state cutline.

Moments later, Kittle won the 50-yard freestyle in a time that qualified her for States.

Kittle added wins in the 100-yard butterfly and as part of the 400-yard freestyle relay.

WAVERLY'S ROBINSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Robinson had a standout game on both sides of the ball for the Wolverines in their 14-13 win over defending PIAA Class AA state champion Troy Friday night.

Robinson led Waverly's ground game with 95 yards on 16 carries.

Defensively, he had eight tackles, including two tackles-for-losses.
