NTL GOLF: ATHENS FALLS TO WELLSBORO, TIES WITH NP-M (14 PHOTOS) (2025-09-03)
Valley Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Wellsboro took advantage of its home course to notch wins over Athens and North Penn-Mansfield here Wednesday afternoon in NTL golf action at the Tyoga Country Club.
Wellsboro carded a four-player aggregate score of 160, while Athens and NP-M tied at 169.
NP-M's Andy Hermansen earned low-medal honors with a 37 on the par-35 front nine, while Wellsboro's Syler Pietrzyk and Mason Brill each shot rounds of 39, and Chase Schultz and Ben Jackson each shot matching 41s.
Sophomore Ty Owen led Athens with a 40, while junior Lucas Greninger shot a 41, and junior Eli Hicks carded a 43.
Freshman Jacob Saxon shot a 45 for the Wildcats, while sophomores Colin Congdon and Brooke Lyon added non-scoring rounds of 51 and 55, respectively.
Athens, now 19-5-1, returns to action Monday against Canton and Cowanesque Valley at River Valley Golf Course in Westfield, Pa.
