Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Waverly hosts its annual Wolverine Swimming & Diving Invitational today, while the Athens girls are on the road for the only game of the day, and the Waverly girls are at the Hall of Fame Tournament for two games this afternoon.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Waverly HOSTS Wolverine Invitational, 9:45 a.m. diving — 1 p.m. swimming: The Wolverines host M-E, Owego, Corning, Susquehanna Valley, U-E, Horseheads, Ithaca, Chenango Valley, Norwich, and Oneonta for the ninth annual Wolverine Invitational.
Waverly senior Mira Kittle is the top seed in the 50-yard freestyle, while sophomore Lauryn Welles is the second seed, and freshman Ayla Wheeler is the sixth seed.
Kittle is also the top seed in the 100-yard butterfly, while freshman Audrey Kellogg is the top seed in the 100-yard freestyle, and Wheeler is the fifth seed.
Senior Olivia Cheresnowsky is the top seed in the 100-yard backstroke freshman Brynna Twedt is the sixth seed.
Freshman Natalie Steck is the second seed in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Waverly's 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle, and 400-yard freestyle relays are top seeds.
GIRLS SOCCER
Athens (1-1) at North Penn-Mansfield (1-2), 10 a.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a 1-0 win over Towanda, while the Tigers topped NEB, 5-1.
