NTL CROSS COUNTRY: VOUGH, SHORES PACE ATHENS AT FORBES INVITATIONAL (24 PHOTOS) (2025-09-06)

ONEONTA — Sophomore Alissa Vough ran to a fifth-place finish, and junior Jacob Shores had a top-20 finish to pace Athens here Saturday at the Dave Forbes Cross Country Invitational.

“We had a good day," said Athens coach Mike Bronson. "Overall, we were really happy with all of the races our kids ran today.
  
"This was definitely a step forward for us," he added. "We saw a lot of our kids improve, and it gave our new kids their first bigger invite experience.”

LADY WILDCATS PLACE EIGHTH AT FORBES INVITE
Vough placed fifth in a time of 20:51.8, and senior Ava Hughes finished 31st in 23:22.1 to lead the Lady Wildcats to an eighth-place finish in the team standings.

Sophomore Marlene Roelle finished 54th in a time of 25:04.1, while senior Karolin Roelle was 59th in 25:16.9, junior Haylie Horton was 81st in 26:53.9, sophomore Tatyana Nasser was 87th in 27:21.2, and freshman Adaline Burnett was 94th in 27:37.6.

Junior Grace Ellsworth finished 124th for the Wildcats in 30:00.2, and freshman Katyayini Kinthala was 128th in 30:29.4.

ATHENS BOYS FINISH 10TH
Junior Jacob Shores finished 17th in a time of 16:32.3, and junior Matt Rossettie was 27th in 17:15.8 to lead Athens to a 10th-place finish in the team standings.

Senior Parker Wanck finished 53rd in 18:19.6, while senior Andrew DeForest was 100th in 20:56, freshman Micah Simwale was 111th in 21:35.4, and junior Kamden Knapp was 114th in 22:14.6.

MODIFIED
Boys
Rowan Morales placed third in the modified boys race, clocking in with a time of 7:55.4.

Girls
Sadie Wanck (9:30.5) and Evelyn Owen (9:34.3) finished eighth and ninth, respectively, and Paisley Smith (9:44.7) was 12th in the modified girls race.
