STAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY WINS FIRST SET; FALLS TO ELMIRA, 3-1 (2025-09-17)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly won a hard-fought first set, but Elmira answered to take the next three in a 3-1 win here Wednesday night in non-divisional STAC volleyball action.
The Wolverines prevailed 27-25 in the opening set, but the Express answered with wins of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-14.
Junior Ava Heath led Waverly with six service aces, five kills, and 10 digs, and senior Brilynn Belles had 11 kills and 18 digs.
Junior Emma Richards-Randall had eight digs, three kills, and four setter assists for the Wolverines, and Adriana Presher added 13 digs.
Waverly, now 1-5, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Seton Catholic in its third home match in as many nights.
