H.S GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: ATHENS' VOUGH FINISHES IN TOP-10 AT 'DASH IN THE DARK' INVITE; MILLS PACES TIOGA, SINSABAUGH LEADS WAVERLY (2025-09-20)

OWEGO — Athens sophomore Alissa Vough ran to a top-10 finish to lead the Lady Wildcats to a fifth-place finish in the Large School Division here Friday night at the "Dash in the Dark" girls cross country invitational.

Nanuet won the Large School Division title with 66 placement points, while Owego was second with 78, and Corning was third with 82. Athens finished fifth with 150 points.

Vough placed eighth in a time of 19:58.6, while senior Ava Hughes was 39th in 21:32.1, and sophomore Marlene Roelle was 52nd in 22:31.6.

Senior Karolin Roelle finished 71st for the Wildcats in a time of 23:50.3, while junior Haylie Horton was 91st in 24:43.7, and freshman Adaline Burnett was 93rd in 24:48.7. 

Freshman Mya Allen finished 116th in a time of 26:24.5 for Athens, and freshman Katayini Kinthala was 145th in 30:29.4.

Freshman Reese Mills was Tioga's lone competitors and finished 65th in a time of 23:24.9.

Junior Taylor Sinsabaugh led Waverly with an 88th-place finish in a time of 24:40.6, and sophomore Miah Correll was 107th in 25:27.2.

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS
Athens' Evelyn Owen finished 28th in a time of 12:02.4, while Sadie Wanck was 31st in 12:12.2, Allie Lyon was 34th in 12:19.2, and Paisley Smith was 41st in 12:29.8.

Pepper Mosier was Waverly's lone competitor and finished 59th in 13:23.3.

Emma Swartz finished 125th in 19:55.3 to pace Tioga, while Noel Williams was 129th in 22:26.4, and Lillah Bellows was 130th in 24:55.0.
