STAC VOLLEYBALL: OWEGO TOPS WAVERLY IN FOUR SETS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-09-23)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly avoided the sweep with a third-set win, but Owego closed out the match in dominating fashion in a 3-1 win here Tuesday night in STAC Central Division volleyball action.
The River Hawks won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-12, but the Wolverines extended the match with a 25-15 win in the third set.
Owego wrapped up the four-set victory with a 25-9 decision in the fourth set.
Brillynn Belles led Waverly with five service aces, five kills, and eight digs, while Mya Chamberlain had seven setter assists and five digs, and Emma Richards-Randall added two kills and four assists.
Maggie Hamed led Owego with 16 kills, while Bella Miller had 19 assists and five aces, and Alyssa Harrington added five kills and six digs.
Waverly, now 2-6, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Chenango Forks.
