"Not our best day in terms of how we played," said Athens coach Rich Pitts.
"On to tomorrow for another battle to get us ready for the rest of the season," added Pitts, whose Wildcats take on Liverpool Sunday at Oneonta.
Senior Olivia Thompson scored Athens' goal late in the first half to trim the deficit to 3-1.
Loisa Hofstrom netted a hat trick for the Millionaires, and Debbie Schultz scored two goals.
Williamsport had a 19-2 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Sophomore Annika Lezak recorded 13 saves in net for the Wildcats.
Athens falls to 6-4 on the season.
