NTL CROSS COUNTRY: ATHENS GIRLS WIN TWO OF THREE AT TOWANDA QUAD-MEET; ATHENS BOYS GO 0-3 (22 PHOTOS) (2025-09-30)
Valley Sports ReportTOWANDA — Towanda had five of the top five finishers to go 3-0 in the girls race, but sophomore Alissa Vough's third-place finish led Athens to a pair of wins here Tuesday in NTL cross country action. The Athens boy were 0-3 on the day.
GIRLS
Towanda 18, Athens 37
Athens 16, Troy 39
Athens 15, Canton 50Vough finished third behind Towanda's 1-2 punch of Maris Cobb (20:58) and Izzy Larson (21:25). She clocked in with a time of 22:28.
Sophomore Marlene Roelle was seventh in 25:45, and seniors Karolin Roelle (27:07) and Ava Hughes (27:51) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
Freshman Adaline Burnett was 12th in 28:46, and sophomore Tatyana Nasser was 13th in 29:12, while junior Haylie Horton was 16th in 3:40, freshman Mia Allen was 18th in 32:01, and freshman Katyayini Kinthala was 19th in 32:36.
Troy's top finisher placed 111th.
BOYS
Towanda 20, Athens 40
Troy 18, Athens 37
Canton 24, Athens 31Junior Matt Rossettie (20:00) finished 10th, and junior Jacob Shores (20:26) was 13th to lead Athens, but Canton (two), Towanda (five), and Troy (three) each had at least two runners finish in the top 10.
Senior Parker Wanck finished 19th for the Wildcats in a time of 22:00, while junior Andrew DeForest was 26th in 24:53, and junior Camden Knapp was 29th in 25:38.
JUNIOR HIGH
BoysRowan Morales finished fifth in a time of 11:37 for the Wildcats, and Nico Rossettie was sixth in 12:00.
GirlsEvelyn Owen finished fifth for the Wildcats in a time of 13:17, while Sadie Wanck was seventh in 13:47, and Allie Lyon was 10th in 14:12.
Paisley Smith finished 12th for Athens in a time of 14:37.
Athens returns to action Saturday at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite at Chenango Valley High School.
