SECTION IV BOYS GOLF: WALTER, BRADY LEAD WAVERLY TO FOURTH-PLACE FINISH AT CLASS B CHAMPIONSHIPS (16 PHOTOS) (2025-10-06)
Valley Sports ReportELMIRA — Sophomore Griff Walter and Daniel Brady each had top-10 finishes to lead Waverly to a fourth-place finish at the Section IV, Class B Boys Golf Championships here at Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
Norwich won the Class B team title with a five-player aggregate score of 417, while Seton Catholic was runner-up at 422, and Owego was third at 439.
"The guys played great today," said Waverly coach Marc Felt. "All of them either played as good or better than their average for the year. It was fun to watch.
"A special shoutout to Griff (Walter) and Daniel (Brady)," noted Felt. "To medal in Class B is a huge accomplishment, but especially as sophomores and just second-year golfers.
"I'm excited for the rest of this week and the STAC championship next week," added Felt.
Walter finished fifth with a round of 82, while Brady was tied for ninth with an 86.
Junior Daniel Fisher finished tied for 13th with an 87, while senior Mac Talada tied for 18th with a 93.
Senior Tammo Bruns added a 101 for the Wolverines, and sophomore Trevor Allen tacked on a 119.
