THE VALLEY — Waverly hosts Maine-Endwell in a key Section IV, Division III football battle at Memorial Stadium, while Tioga and Sayre are on the road on "Football Friday."

FOOTBALL
Maine-Endwell (2-2) at Waverly (5-0), 7 p.m.: The Wolverines, ranked fourth in the state in Class B, are coming off a 21-20 win over state-ranked U-E, while the Spartans, ranked 12th, topped Vestal, 30-27.

The Waverly offense is balanced — averaging 136.2 yards per game through the air and 139.8 on the ground. The Wolverines are outscoring their opponents by an average of 29.6 to 14.2 points per game.

Maine-Endwell has played three consecutive games decided by three points or less, and have been outscored this season by an average of 22.3 to 17.3 points per game.

Sayre (0-7) at Towanda (1-6), 7 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 47-6 home loss to South Williamsport, while the Black Knights dropped a 54-7 decision to Athens at home.

Sayre has been outscored this season by an average of 47.6 to 3 points per game, while Towanda has been outscored 34.1 to 11 points per game.
