Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — The regular season is winding to a close in everything but football, and the hectic fall schedule is starting slow down a bit.

There are 23 games on the docket this week, including five on Tuesday.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (3)
•  Sayre volleyball hosts Galeton in an early start, with the JV game beginning at 4:30 p.m.

•  Waverly hosts STAC rival Seton Catholic on the links at Shepard Hills.

TUESDAY (5)
•  The Athens girls host Tioga in a rare meeting between the two Valley soccer rivals.

•  The Waverly girls hosts STAC soccer rival Horseheads.

•  Athens volleyball hosts Canton

WEDNESDAY (3)
•  Waverly hosts former IAC boys soccer rival Tioga under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

•  Tioga field hockey hosts Deposit-Hancock.

THURSDAY (4)
•  Sayre volleyball host NTL Small School rival Canton.

•  Waverly volleyball on the road against divisional front-runner Owego.

FRIDAY (4)
•  Athens hosts Muncy on the gridiron at Alumni Stadium.

•  Tioga is on the road to take on former IAC football rival Trumansburg.

SATURDAY (4)
•  Waverly travels to Owego for a matinee on the gridiron.

•  Sayre hosts Canton at the Lockhart Street Bowl in its Homecoming game.
