DISTRICT 4 FOOTBALL: ATHENS OPENS CLASS 4A PLAYOFFS AT JERSEY SHORE (2025-10-25)

ATHENS — After a 9-1 regular season, Athens is the third seed in the District 4, Class 4A football playoffs and will open postseason play Friday at second-seeded Jersey Shore. Game time is 7 p.m.

In the other semi-final game, top-seeded Shamokin hosts fourth-seeded Shikellamy Friday at 7 p.m.

CLASS AA PLAYOFFS
A quartet of NTL teams qualified for the eight-team Class AA playoffs.

Third-seed Troy (9-1) will host sixth-seed Wellsboro Friday at 7 p.m. in one quarter-final game, with the winner facing the winner of the game between second-seeded Warrior Run and seventh-seeded South Williamsport.

At the top of the bracket, top-seeded Southern Columbia hosts eighth-seeded Cowanesque Valley, while fourth-seeded Bloomsburg hosts fifth-seeded Loyalsock.

CLASS A PLAYOFFS
Second-seeded Montgomery will host third-seeded Muncy Friday at 7 p.m. in the Class A semifinals.

The winner will play at Line Mountain on Nov. 7 in the Class A championship game.
