STAC CROSS COUNTRY: HINE PACES WAVERLY'S EFFORTS AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS (11 PHOTOS) (2025-10-25)

ENDICOTT — Junior Chase Hine posted a top-30 finish here Saturday to pace Waverly's efforts at the STAC Cross Country Championships here at the Ann G. McGuinness Elementary School course.

"I’m very proud of the team’s performances today at the STAC championships," said Waverly coach Nate Culver. 

"Our focus has always been improving on previous performance times," he noted. "We had many had PRs from the last time they ran this course, and some had substantial PRs, ranging in minutes off their old time. 

"Our priority during the championship portion of the season is to refine their race strategy leading into Sectionals," added Culver. "We always keep our eye on other Class C schools and race to put our athletes in the best standing come Sectionals."

Corning won the team title, led by senior Bryce Hammond (16:17.3), sophomore Christopher Lawson (16:18.7) and senior Nicholas Ferratella (16:21.7), who finished 1-2-3.

BOYS
Hine finished 29th in a time of 17:42.1 on the 3.1-mile course, and sophomore Hayden Montanye was 38th in 18:23.5.

Freshman Colten Santalucia was 78th in 20:17.6 for Wolverines, while junior Jayden Washington was 96th in 21:39.3, and sophomore Garret Akins was 101st in a time of 22:54.2.

GIRLS
Sophomore Miah Correll finished 54th in a time of 24:42.2 to pce the Lady Wolverines, and junior Taylor Sinsabaugh was 64th in a time of 25:55.6.

The Section IV Championships are set for Nov. 6 at the Chenango valley State Park course.

MODIFIED
Logan Huff finished 101st in a time of 14:38 in the modified boys race, and Michael MacNeal was 128th in 18:23.
