THE VALLEY — There's only one event on Thursday's docket, but it's a big one with Sayre taking on Canton for the District 4, Class A volleyball title at Athens Area High School.

2-Sayre (10-9) vs. 1-Canton (9-11): The Redskins advanced to the Class A finals with a sweep of Sugar Valley Rural Charter on Monday, while the Warriors, who ended the regular season with back-to-back losses to Wyalusing and NP-Liberty, received a bye.

These two teams met twice this season with Sayre winning a five-set thriller at home on Sept. 18, and Canton returning the favor with a five-set win at home on Oct. 16.

The winner will open the PIAA, Class A playoffs at home next week.
