SECTION IV VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA FALLS TO TOP-SEEDED LANSING IN FIVE SETS IN CLASS C FINALS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-11-08)

TIOGA CENTER — Top-seeded Lansing rallied from a 2-1 deficit to pull out a five-set win over Tioga and claim the Section IV, Class volleyball title here Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats, now 15-2, dominated the first set for a 25-11 win, but the Tigers (13-5) answered with wins of 25-19 and 25-13.

Lansing regrouped and won the final two sets 25-16 and 15-10.

"I thought the girls played a great match," said longtime Tioga coach Des Ford, who has coached Tioga to the Section IV finals in 17 of the last 18 season.

"It was an outstanding match. I'm so proud of them, so proud of them," noted Ford. "They played the game the way it needs to be played, and they fought. 

"We've had some rocky weeks, but they pulled it together tonight," added Ford.

The Tigers trailed in the second and third sets, but battled back for the wins.

"That says a lot about the mental toughness," said Ford. "The mental toughness, and the want to win, and they wanted it."

Senior RaeAnne Feeko led Tioga with six points, five kills, one block, 23 setter assists, and eight digs, while senior Lilly Mezzatesta had five points, 13 kills, one block, and 14 digs, and senior Audi Zorn had 12 kills, one block, and three digs.

Senior Mia Hall had seven points, four kills and two digs for the Tigers, while Lydiah Decker had five points and 24 digs, senior Alyson Chamberlain had four points, seven assists, and seven digs, and sophomore Vida Rossi registered four kills, one block, and three digs.

Mary Divers added two points and seven digs for Tioga, and junior Vanessa Tunnicliff chipped in with three blocks.
