IAC GIRLS SOCCER: TIOGA'S HOWEY NAMED DIVISIONAL MVP, SIX TEAMMATES RECEIVE ALL-STAR HONORS (November 13, 2025)

Valley Sports Report
TIOGA CENTER — Tioga freshman Grace Howey led the Tigers to a division title, and was awarded with MVP honors in the IAC South Small School Division, while six of her teammates were named to the divisional all-star team.

Seniors Sophia Haney and Emily Zwierlein were named first-team divisional all-stars, while senior Izzy Carter, junior Marcy Moniz, freshman Natalie Kemp, and 8th-grader Kaylah Nelson earned second-team recognition.

Howey, who is just as fast with the ball at her feet as she is without and has a sky-high soccer IQ, scored 16 goals and dished out 12 assists.

FIRST TEAM
Sophia Haney, senior, Tioga:
Haney, who had another knee surgery after injury her knee late in her junior season, got better and better as the season progressed. 

Haney, the program's all-time leading goal-scorer with 53, finished the season with 12 goals and five assists.

Emily Zwierlein, senior, Tioga: A physical and fiery defender, Zwierlein was a key cog in Tioga's defense.

SECOND TEAM
Marcy Moniz, junior, Tioga: Athletic and with a good head for the game, Moniz was an integral part of the divisional champion Tigers, who also posted the second-ever postseason win.

Moniz recorded 162 saves in 19 games. She had four one-goal games, including a 1-0 double-OT loss to Groton in the IAC Championship game, and two shutouts, including a 3-0 win over Marathon in the opening round of the Class C playoffs.

Isabelle Carter, senior, Tioga: Fast and physical, Carter was a key cog in the Tigers' defense that posted six games this season with 1 or fewer goals.

Natalie Kemp, freshman, Tioga: A speedy wing with good foot skills, Kemp scored five goals and had one assist.

Kaylah Nelson, 8th-grader, Tioga: Another strong defender for the Tigers, Nelson is physical, quick and has a good soccer IQ.
