NTL GOLF: ATHENS' LYON NAMED GIRLS 'PLAYER OF YEAR;' HICKS, OWEN JOIN HER AS A FIRST-TEAM ALL-STAR (November 27, 2025)

ATHENS — Sophomore Brooke Lyon was named the girls "Player of the Year," and junior Eli Hicks and sophomore Ty Owen joined her as the NTL first-team all-stars as voted recently by the league's golf coaches.

Junior Lucas Greninger was named to the second team.

Towanda sophomore Boom Thompson was named the "Boys Player of the Year."

FIRST TEAM
Eli Hicks, junior, Athens: A state qualifier, Hicks led the NTL with a 79.2 scoring average, including a low round of 75. He finished fifth at the NTL Championships with an 81, and was second at the District 4 Championships with a two-day total of 152 (74-78) to earn his trip to States. Hicks was the Day 1 leader at Districts, and finished 1 shot off the lead.

Ty Owen, sophomore, Athens: Owen was second in the NTL with a scoring average of 79.5, including a low round of 76. He won the NTL Championship tournament with a round of 76 at Corey Creek, and finished third at the District 4 Championships with a two-day total of 157 (82-75).

Brooke Lyon, sophomore, Athens: Lyon finished the season with a 103 scoring average, but shot rounds of 85, a school record, and 86.  She finished seventh at the District 4 Championships.

Also named to the first team were Thompson, Graham Welles, Owen Savercool, and Olivia Heath — all of Towanda, Cowanesque Valley's Laila Hackett, and North Penn-Mansfield's Andy Hermansen.

SECOND TEAM
Lucas Greninger, junior, Athens: Greninger finished the season 10th in the NTL with an 86.2 scoring average, including a low round of 84. He was 10th at the NTL Championships with an 86, and finished 10th at the District 4 Championships, missing the cut by two strokes with a round of 87.

Also named to the second team were Towanda's Baylee Clark, Jason Wickwire, and Izzy Repshere, Wellsboro's Syler Pietrzyk, Cowanesque Valley's Katie Huxley, and North Penn-Mansfield's Alex Kalamaris.
