Valley Sports Report
SAYRE — Sayre senior Rylee Lantz has been named the Small School "Offensive Player of the Year," while first-year coach Colby Sangrey was voted NTL "Coach of the Year," and four Lady Redskins earned all-star kudos in recent voting by the league's volleyball coaches.

Junior Alex Schack and sophomore Reghan McGaughey were named first-team Small School all-stars, and freshman Lili Schack and junior Yhale Doon were each named second-team selections.

Lantz, the heart-and-soul of the District 4 champion Redskins, registered a team-high 211 kills and 35 blocks, to go along with 37 service aces, 53 digs, and eight setter assists.

Sangrey took over a Sayre program that entered the season with a 66-match losing streak, and lost its first two matches to run the streak to 68.

From that point on, Sayre went 12-8 to finish the season at 12-10. The Redskins won the program's first-ever District 4 title game, and recorded its first-ever state playoff win to reach the state quarterfinals.
