STAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: WAVERLY FALLS TO BALDWINSVILLE IN FINALS OF TIP-OFF TOURNEY (November 29, 2025)
Valley Sports ReportBALDWINSVILLE — Baldwinsville rode a hot first quarter to an eight-point lead, and then pulled away for a 60-36 win over Waverly here Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the of the Bill Middleton Tip-Off Tournament in non-league girls basketball action.
Junior Ryleigh Judson scored five points in the first quarter, while sophomore Kaylin Twedt scored four points, and senior Brilynn Belles knocked down a 3-pointer, but Baldwinsville's Olivia Davis drained four 3-pointers and scored 12 points to fuel a 23-15 run in the opening eight minutes.
Sicily Shaffer, who scored eight points in the first quarter, scored six more in the second quarter, and Davis canned another 3-pointer as the Bees used a 15-7 spurt to take a 38-22 lead into the halftime break.
Judson and sophomore Maci Wheeler each knocked down 3-pointers in the third quarter, but Baldwinsville used a 15-8 run to stretch its lead to 53-30 heading into the final eight minutes.
Judson led Waverly with 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while
Sutton had six points on a pair of 3-pointers and three rebounds, and sophomore Kendall Rockwell added five points.
Twedt had four points and five rebounds for the Wolverines, while sophomore Lauryn Welles and junior Emma Richard-Randall each hauled down five boards, and Belles chipped in with three boards.
Davis led the Bees with 20 points, including six 3-pointers, and Shaffer added 17 points.
Waverly, now 1-1, returns to action Saturday against Ithaca at the Elmira College Tip-Off Classic.
