FOOTBALLNew York State PlayoffsClass D ChampionshipTioga (12-1) vs. Tuckahoe (10-1), 3 p.m. @ JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse: The Tioga Tigers advanced to its fourth Class D title game in five years with a 20-16 win over previously-unbeaten Newfane Sunday, while the Tuckahoe Tigers topped previously-unbeaten Greenwich, 13-7, last Friday.

Waverly at Stephens Duals Classic, 5 p.m. @ Horseheads M.S.: The Wolverines open the 2025-26 season in a round-robin duals tournament against Horseheads, Camden, Bolivar-Richburg, Middletown, and West Genesee.
BOYS BASKETBALLMifflinburg Tip-Off TournamentSayre vs. Mifflin County (1-0), 6 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 17-10 season and a trip to the state playoffs, but graduated 10 seniors and their top returner (Declan Barry) is battling an injury from football season.
Class 6A Mifflin County, which was 10-13 last year, opened the 2025-26 season Wednesday with an 85-42 win over Shikellamy.
Class 4A Mifflinburg and Class 3A Montoursville will square off in the other semi-final game.
GIRLS BASKETBALLCentral Mountain Tip-Off TournamentAthens (0-1) vs. Brookeville (0-1), 6 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a season-opening, 49-33, loss at Johnson City Wednesday, while the Raiders dropped a 51-37 decision to Clarion-Limestone Tuesday.
Central Mountain will take on Central High School (Martinsburg, Pa.) in the night cap.
