NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: SAYRE FALLS TO MONTOURSVILLE IN CONSOLATION GAME OF MIFFLINBURG TIP-OFF TOURNEY (December 26, 2025)Valley Sports ReportMIFFLINBURG — Montoursville got off to a quick start and cruised to a 74-17 win over Sayre here Saturday in the consolation game of the MIfflinburg Tip-Off Tournament.
The Warriors led 20-3 after the first eight minutes, with junior Rommel Suba's 3-pointer the Redskins' only points of the quarter.
Sophomore Brayden Northrup added a 3-pointer for Sayre in the second quarter, but MLB Hall of Fame Mike Mussina's Montoursville's squad used a 24-5 blitz to take a 44-8 lead into the halftime locker room.
Suba knocked down another 3-pointer in the third quarter, and Northrup scored four points in the second half, but the Warriors outscored them in both quarters.
Northrup led Sayre with seven points, while Suba added six points and three rebounds, Riley Johnson hauled down six boards, and senior Jackson Varner had four rebounds.
Kingston Fisher led Montoursville with 14 points.
Sayre, now 0-2, travels to Towanda Tuesday.
