IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: TIOGA FALLS TO CANDOR, 61-32, IN CONSOLATION GAME OF SIBLEY TOURNANMENT (December 6, 2025)

OWEGO — Candor got off a blazing start and Tioga never recovered in a 61-32 loss here Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Charlie Sibley Memorial Girls Basketball Tournament.

Candor's Emmi Makie drained a trio of 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the opening stanza to fuel a 24-3 blitz in the first eight minutes.

Irie Lynch knocked down a 3-pointer and scored five points in the second quarter, and Lydiah Decker and Kaylah Nelson each connected from long distance, but the Coyotes outscored the Tigers 14-11 to take a 38-14 lead into the halftime break.

Lynch drained two more 3-pointers, and Kate Kithcart added a trey for Tioga, but Candor again used a 14-11 advantage in the third quarter to take a 52-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Lynch led Tioga with 13 points, including three 3-pointers, while Decker had eight points, including two 3-pointers, and Nelson had six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Decker, Kithcart, Nelson, Kaylynne Miller and Adrienne Delmage led Tioga with three rebounds apiece, and Decker recorded four steals.

Makie led Candor with a career-high 34 points, including six 3-pointers.

Tioga, now 0-2, returns to action Thursday at S-VE.
