H.S. GIRLS WRESTLING: TOOMEY WINS TITLE; PACES TIOGA'S EFFORTS AT STEPHENS SCRAMBLE (24 PHOTOS) (December 6, 2025)
Valley Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — Junior Amelia Toomey won the 145-pound bracket here Saturday to pace Tioga's efforts at the Bea Stephens Scramble.
Freshman Grace Howey finished third in the 120-pound bracket, and junior junior Marcy Moniz placed third in the 152-pound bracket.
Senior RaeAnne Feeko fifth, and sophomore Vida Rossi sixth in the 126-pound bracket, while freshman Taylor Sindoni finished fifth, and senior Mia Hall was sixth in the 114-pound bracket.
Junior Sadie Marshall placed third in the 114-pound beginner's bracket.
Toomey was 5-0 on the day, scoring three falls in 44 seconds or less, and two 10-0 technical falls. She pinned Horseheads' Aliyah Teeth in 33 seconds in the championship match.
Howey was 3-2 to place third in the 120-pound weight class. She was 1-1 in pool play, then pinned Northern Adirondack's Cora Nebesnik in 1:40 in the quarterfinals.
After losing by fall in the semis, Howey decked Rush-Henrietta's Ishana Vikram in 1:05 in the third-place match.
Moniz was 3-2 to place third in the 152-pound weight class. After a 1-1 mark in pool play, Moniz pinned Waverly's Gianna Zienuik in 53 seconds in the quarterfinals.
After a loss in the semis, Moniz bounced back with a 42-pin of Horseheads' Lilly Garrabrant in the third-place match.
In the 126-pound bracket, Feeko was 2-1 in pool play with a pair of first-period falls. She won her semi-final match by injury default of East Rochester's Lily Allen in the consolation semifinals, then pinned Rossi in 1:09 in the fifth-place match.
Rossi was 1-1 in pool play, including a 40-second pin in her first varsity match, then pinned Gracie Bagg of Harpursville-BGA-CV in 42 seconds in the consolation semifinals, before falling to Feeko.
In the 114-pound bracket, Sindoni lost her only pool play match, and also lost in the quarterfinals, then received a forfeit in the consolation semifinals, before pinning Hall in 47 seconds in the fifth-place match.
Hall was 1-2 in pool play, winning by fall in 38 seconds, then pinned Sidney's Isabella Quinones in 56 seconds in the consolation semifinals before falling to Sindoni.
Marshall won her first four matches by fall — in 11, 21, 24 and 42 seconds. After a pair of losses, Marshall won her final bout by fall in 32 seconds to finish 5-2 for a third-place finish in the 114-pound beginner's bracket.
Senior Ally Chamberlain was 3-2 on the day, and finished seventh in the 120-pound bracket. She pinned Howey in 1:24 in the first pool play match, and also pinned Sidney's Isabelle Joseph in 29 seconds to finish 2-0 in pool play.
Chamberlain lost in the quarterfinals and in the consolation semifinals to fall into the seventh-place match, where she deck Nesbesnik in 26 seconds.
Senior Sophia Haney was 3-2 on the day to finish seventh in the 132-pound bracket. She scored a 10-0 technical fall off Waverly's Faith Hyjek, and pinned teammate sophomore Maggie Conover in 20 seconds to finish pool play at 2-0.
After losses in the quarterfinals and in the consolation semifinals to fall into the seventh-place match, she pinned Horseheads' Brylee Friend in 34 seconds.
Conover was 0-4 in the 132-pound bracket, and sophomore Cora Szymanski was 0-5 at 145 pounds.
Tioga returns to action Friday at the U-E Girls Tradesman Tournament.
