ON TAP TODAY: TWO MORE TEAMS MAKE SEASON DEBUTS (December 8, 2025)

THE VALLEY — Three of Monday's four events are in the Valley, with the Athens boys making their season debut on the hope hardwoods, and the Waverly boys and girls opening their 2025-26 seasons on the bowling hardwoods, while the Waverly girls open the home portion of their hoop schedule.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Williamson at Athens, 6 p.m. JV start: The Wildcats are coming off a 9-13 season and will once again be a Class 5A team, while the Class AA Warriors posted a 4-18 record in 2024-25.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Chenango Valley at Waverly (2-1), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Wolverines are coming off a 58-19 win over Ithaca Saturday, while the Warriors will open their season tonight.

Sayre (0-1) at Sullivan County, 6 p.m. JV start: The Redskins opened the season with a 49-22 loss at Newfield, while the Griffins open the season tonight.

BOYS & GIRLS BOWLING
Windsor at Waverly, 3:40 p.m. @ VBC: The STAC bowling season begins today with the defending Section IV Division 2 champ Wolverines hosting Windsor at the Valley Bowling Center.
