NTL WRESTLING: WILLIAMSON TAKES CONTROL EARLY IN 44-29 WIN OVER ATHENS (24 PHOTOS) (December 9, 2025)

TIOGA JUNCTION, Pa. — Williamson won six weight classes in a row early to take control on its way to a 44-29 win over Athens here Tuesday night in NTL wrestling action.

Athens freshman Chace VanDyke received a forfeit to give the Wildcats their only lead of the night at 6-0, but it was short-lived as the Wildcats issues forfeits at 114 and 121 to give the Warriors a 12-6 lead.

After a technical fall at 127 and pins and 133 and 139, Williamson led 29-6.

Sophomore standout Treyton Barrett righted the ship for the Wildcats with a 22-5 technical fall of Ryder Dacheux in 4:14 at 145 pounds.

Junior Lucas Persun gave Athens hope with an 82-second fall of Jayden Bovee at 152 pounds to close the gap to 29-18, but back-to-back Williamson falls at 160 and 172 pounds pushed the lead back to 41-16 and clinched the match for the Warriors.

Junior Connor Davidson recorded the fastest fall of the night for the Wildcats at 189 pounds, decking Riley Rall in 61 seconds.

Junior Brendan Cooke finished up the scoring for Athens with a fall at 215 pounds.

Williamson standout Luke Sottomano wrapped up the proceedings with a 6-1 win over first-year senior Brenden Comstock.

Athens returns to action Friday when it hosts Wyalusing.
