COLLEGE SWIMMING: ATHENS GRADS LEONARD, COBB LEAD WILKES TEAMS TO STRONG FINISHES AT ELECTRIC CITY INVITE (December 10, 2025)

Josh Leonard, a freshman, and
Grace Cobb, a sophomore, both had good performances to help Wilkes University swim teams to strong finishes here at the Electric City Invite at Marywood College.
Leonard was fifth in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:21.55, and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:28.95 — more than 17 seconds faster than his seed time.
Leonard placed seventh in the 100-yard butterfly.
He also swam on a pair of relays and posted a PR as part of the 400-yard freestyle relay with a split of 56.19 seconds.
Wilkes won the team title in the five-team tournament.
In Wilkes' dual prior to the Electric City Invite, Leonard finished third in the 200-yard freestyle and was on the second-place 400-yard freestyle relay team in a winnower Goucher College.
Cobb was sixth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:55.09, and ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:08.54 — nearly 9 seconds faster than her seed time.
She was 12th in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:03.39.
Cobb was also part of the fourth-place 400-yard freestyle relay which clocked in at 3:58.5, and the fifth-place 800-yard freestyle relay that clocked in at 8:54.50.
Wilkes finished third in the seven-team field.
In Wilkes' dual prior to the Electric City Invite, Cobb won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a win over Goucher College.
Wilkes, 4-4 in duals, returns to action Jan. 10 in a double-dual against the University of Scranton and Lebanon Valley College at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center.
