COLLEGE WRESTLING: SEEDED 20TH, ROE (STEVENS IT) FINISHES THIRD AT MILWAUKEE INVITATIONAL (December 10, 2025)

Tyler Roe, a sophomore on the Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team, was seeded 20th, but finished third Saturday here at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational.
Roe opened his day with a 20-3 technical fall win in 4:26 over Chicago's Nathan Sanchez.
Roe scored a pair of takedowns in the first period and led 6-1 after the first three minutes.
Roe registered three more takedowns quickly in the third period, adding four near-fall points after his third takedown to end the match.
In the second round, Roe dropped a 4-1 decision to fifth-seeded Ethan Struck of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, allowing a takedown with 20 seconds remaining in the match.
Roe bounced back in the consolation bracket with a 22-4 technical fall over Cornell College's ninth-seeded Nolan Schuetz.
Roe recorded a pair of takedowns in the first period, and led 6-1 after the first three minutes. He added two more takedowns in the second period to extend his lead to 12-3.
In the third period, Roe recorded a quick escape and takedown to up his lead to 16-4.
After cutting Schuetz loose, Roe hit a six-point move to end the match.
In the consolation semifinals, Roe hit a takedown and turned it into a fall of Chicago's 11th-seeded Sam Szerlip at 2:19.
In the third-place match, Roe registered 8-3 decision over Wisconsin-Eau Claire's third-seeded Brady Brewick. Roe scored an early takedown to take a 3-0 lead, then scored another with 45 seconds remaining in the third period to seal the win.
Roe is now 13-8 on the season.
Stevens wraps up its pre-Christmas schedule at the Nassau Open Saturday in Garden City, N.Y.
