NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: TOWANDA RIDES FAST START TO BIG WIN OVER SAYRE (10 PHOTOS) (December 10, 2025)

SAYRE — Towanda opened up a 23-point lead after the first quarter, and cruised to a 69-12 win over Sayre here Wednesday night in NTL girls basketball action.

Payton Perry knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the first quarter to fuel the Black Knights' game opening 25-2 run.

Mya Maynard scored six points in the second quarter and Towanda used a 22-4 run to open its lead up to 47-6 at the half.

Brynn Woodruff led Towanda with 16 points, while Maynard scored 15 points, Perry added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Karis Flynn chipped in with eight points.

Senior Rylee Lantz led Sayre with eight points, five rebounds and one blocked shot, while senior Olivia Thompson added four points and five boards, and sophomore McKenna Parrish recorded two steals.

Sayre, now 0-3, returns to action Friday at Wellsboro.
