STAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: SETON CATHOLIC RALLIES PAST WAVERLY (December 15, 2025)
Valley Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Seton Catholic shook off a bad first quarter, and used a torrid second quarter to rally for a 70-59 win over Waverly here Saturday in STAC Central Division junior varsity boys basketball action.
Axel Murray scored eight points in the opening stanza, while Drew Croft added five points, including a 3-pointer, and Maddox Presher drained a 3-pointer to help the Wolverines to a 16-4 lead after the first eight minutes.
The script flipped in the second quarter as the Saints used a 28-6 blitz to take a 32-22 lead into the halftime locker room.
Presher scored four points in the third quarter, and Brycen Fiske canned a 3-pointer to lead a balanced attack for Waverly, but Seton Catholic was equal to the task as both teams scored 17 points in the stanza.
Presher connected on a trip of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and Croft also connected from behind the arc, but the Saints outscored Waverly, 21-20, to preserve the win.
Presher led Waverly with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and five rebounds, while Murray scored 14 points, and Croft had 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Brody Lambert had eight points, three rebounds, four assists, and five steals for the Wolverines, while Fiske had five points, six boards, and one blocked shot, and Ian Johnston chipped in with three rebounds.
Waverly, now 0-2, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Susquehanna Valley.
