STAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: FAST START, BALANCED SCORING LEADS WAVERLY IN ROMP OVER WINDSOR AT UNICO SHOWCASE GAME (24 PHOTOS) (December 20, 2025)

WAVERLY — Waverly jumped out to a quick double-digit lead, and had four players score in double-figures on its way to an 84-32 rout of Windsor in the UNICO Showcase game here Saturday afternoon in STAC girls basketball action.

Senior Kaitlyn Sutton, who canned a pair of 3-pointers, and junior Ryleigh Judson, who was 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, scored eight points apiece in the first quarter, while sophomore Kaylin Twedt scored points, and sophomore Maci Wheeler added four in Waverly's 26-11 game-opening blitz.

Twedt, who was 4-for-4 from the line, scored eight points in the second quarter, and senior Brilynn Belles added four points as Waverly extended its lead to 42-23 at the half.

The second half was all Wolverines as they outscored the Black Knights 42-9.

Twedt scored six points and sophomore Kendall Rockwell added four points in the third quarter, while Wheeler and junior Makenzie Olmsted each drained 3-pointers to fuel a 21-5 run that gave the Wolverines a 63-28 lead entering the final eight minutes.

Judson drained two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the fourth quarter, while Belles added seven points, including a 3-pointer, in Waverly's game-closing 21-4 blitz.

Judson led Waverly with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, eight assists, and seven steals, while Twedt had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Sutton had 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, seven rebonds, seven assists, and six steals.

Belles had 11 points and four boards in the win, while Rockwell had eight points and one blocked shot, and Wheeler had seven points, three rebounds and three steals.

Olmsted scored seven points for the Wolverines, while junior Hannah Carpenter added four points and five rebounds, and sophomore Lauryn Welles contributed six boards and one blocked shot.

Berkeley Ingram led Windsor with 11 points.

Waverly, now 4-2, hosts Wyalusing Monday night.
