VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: ATHENS' VOUGH NAMED ALL-VALLEY 'GIRLS RUNNER OF YEAR;' TIOGA'S MILLS TOP NEWCOMER (December 23, 2025)
Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Athens sophomore
Alissa Vough was the top Valley runner all season, and ended her season at the PIAA Championships. She is the
VSR "
Girls Runner of the Year."
Tioga freshman
Reese Mills improved as the season progressed, and delivered a strong postseason. She is the VSR "
Newcomer of the Year."
Vough finished 12th at the District 4, Class AA Championships to punch her ticket to States, where she finished 72nd.
During the regular season, Vough placed second at the Mc-Daniel Baxter at Chenango Valley, fifth at the Forbes Invite in Oneonta, seventh at the Bob Greene Invite in Newark Valley, and eighth at in the Dash in the Dark Invite at Owego Free Academy.
Mills ran some of her best races in the postseason, where she placed sixth at IAC Small School divisional meet, and 10th at the IAC Championships.
Mills finished 15th at the Section IV, Class D Championships.
During the regular season, she was eighth at the Whitney Point Invite, 17th at the Marathon Invite, 33rd at the Bob Greene Invite, and 65th at the Dash in the Dark Invite.

Ava Hughes, senior, Athens: Hughes put together a solid senior season, running second for the Lady Wildcats during the majority of their dual meets. She finished 37th at the District 4, Class AA Championships.
During the regular season, she was 16th at the McDaniel-Baxter, 26th at at Bob Greene Invite, 31st at the Forbes Invitational, 39th at the Dash in the Dark Invite, and 174th at McQuaid Invite.
Marlene Roelle, sophomore, Athens: One of the most improve runners in the are, Marlene Roelle finished 53rd at the District 4 Championships.
During the regular season, Marlene Roelle finished 22nd at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite, 29th at the Bob Greene Invite, 52nd at the Dash in the Dark Invite, 54th at the Forbes Invite, and 115th at the McQuaid Invitational.
Reese Mills, freshman, Tioga: See above.
Karoline Rolle, senior Athens: Karoline Rolle finished 69th at the District 4, Class AA Championship to cap a very consistent senior season.
She finished 37th at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite, 54th at the Forbes Invite, 71st at the Dash in the Dark, and 186th at the prestigious McQuaid Invite.
Addy Burnett, freshman, Athens: Burnett capped a solid freshman season by finishing 80th at the District 4, Class AA Championships.
Burnett finished 49th at the McDaniel-Baxter Ivnite, 59th at the Forbes Invite, 60th at the Bob Greene Invite, 93rd at the Dash in the Dark, and 173rd at the rugged McQuaid Invite.
Miah Correll, sophomore, Waverly: Correll finished 24th at the Section IV, Class C Championships.
She was 34th at the Marathon Invite, 50th at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite, 53rd at the Bob Greene Invite, 54th at the Forbes Invite, 107th at the Dash in the Dark, and 207th at the McQuaid Invite.
