VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: SAYRE'S LANTZ ALL-VALLEY 'VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF YEAR;" SAYRE'S McGAUGHEY, SANGREY, ATHENS' MOSHER, FORBES, TIOGA'S ZORN ALSO EARN TOP HONORS (December 24, 2025)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Senior Rylee Lantz established herself as a force at the net, and led Sayre to unprecedented heights in 2025. She is the VSR All-Valley "Volleyball Player of the Year."

Athens sophomore Ellie Mosher is the "Offensive Player of the Year," while Tioga senior Audi Zorn is the "Defensive Player of the Year," Athens freshman Kayla Forbes is the "Newcomer of the Year," and Sayre sophomore Reghan McGaughey is the "Breakout Player of the Year."

Sayre's first-year coach Colby Sangrey is the "Coach of the Year."

Lantz was the heart-and-soul of a Sayre team that won the program's first-ever District 4 title, and also went on to collect the first state playoff win in school history.

Lantz, who was a setter last year, registered a team-high 211 kills and 35 blocks on the season, to go along with 37 service aces, 53 digs, and eight setter assists.

Mosher, a hitting machine, led the Wildcats with 285 kills, on a kill rate of 33.2 percent, and a hit rate of 23.4 percent.

Mosher also had 132 service points, including 48 aces, 203 digs, 301 serve-receives and five setter assists.

Zorn was a force at the net, altering more kill attempts than she blocked. She registered 127 kills and 28 blocks, to go along with 93 digs, 13 assists and 12 aces.

Forbes made a huge impact in her first varsity season, recording team-highs with 304 digs and 396 serve-receives, to go along with 114 points, including 45 aces, 12 assists, three kills, and two blocks.

A tremendous all-around player, McGaughey was an integral piece in the Redskins' historic season. She had 63 service aces, 159 kills, 281 digs, and 89 assists.

Sangrey took over a Sayre program that entered the season with a 66-match losing streak, and lost its first two matches to run the streak to 68.

From that point on, Sayre went 12-8 to finish the season at 12-10. 

The Redskins then won the program's first-ever District 4 title, and recorded its first-ever state playoff win to reach the state quarterfinals.

Lilly Mezzatesta, senior, Tioga: A heady and versatile player, Mezzatesta registered 144 kills, and 175 digs, to go along with 16 service aces, six setter assists and five blocks.

RaeAnne Feeko, senior, Tioga: A tremendous all-around athlete, Feeko recorded 277 setter assists, 52 aces, 174 digs, 54 kills and 15 blocks.

Meg Wiles, junior, Athens: A true floor general, Wiles recorded 453 setter assists on the season, to go along with 103 points, including 36 aces, 162 digs, and 15 kills.

Yhale Doon, junior, Sayre: A gifted setter with a good head for the game, Doon registered 398 assists, to go along with 32 aces, 20 kills, and 11 blocks.

Alex Schack, junior, Sayre:  A vocal team leader, Schack had 40 aces, 140 digs, 21 kills, and 11 assists.

Lili Schack, freshman, Sayre: The younger Schack made a huge impact for the Redskins in her first varsity season. She had 38 aces, 74 kills, 23 assists, and 139 digs.

Lainey Vosburgh, sophomore, Athens: Vosburgh is another first-year varsity player who made a big impact. She recorded 367 serve-receives and 208 digs, to go along with 56 points, including 20 aces, five assists, and five kills.

Brilynn Belles, senior, Waverly:  A smart and athletic player, Belles plays all the way around the floor. (No stats provided.)

Vida Rossi, sophomore, Tioga:  Long and athletic, Rossi made a big impact in her first full varsity season. She 124 kills, 46 digs, nine aces, six blocks and one assist.
