IAC WRESTLING: TIOGA ADVANCES FOUR TO SEMIFINALS; THREE MORE ALIVE IN WRESTLEBACKS AT WINDSOR TOURNAMENT (24 PHOTOS) (December 29, 2025)
Valley Sports ReportWINDSOR — Tioga advanced four wrestlers — seniors Jayden Duncanson, Kadin Cole and Logan Bellis, and junior Declan McKee — to the semifinals, and are in fourth place after Day 1 of the annual Windsor Christmas Wrestling Tournament.
The Tigers also have three more grapplers — junior James Howey, and sophomores Drayke Ulrich and Mark McCane — one win away from the podium.
The Tigers 86.5 points, with Poquoson (Virginia) leading the 38-team field with 110 points. Minisink Valley is second with 105.5 points, while Manhasset is third with 90.5 points, and Waverly is fifth with 75 points.
McKee, a reigning state champion, scored a pair of first-period falls on his way to the semifinals.
McKee, the top seed at 110 pounds, decked Waverly's Mason Phillips in 61 seconds, then flattened Collegiate School's Nathan Jacoby in 66 seconds in the quarterfinals.
McKee will face fifth-seeded Brendan Stoutenburg of Saratoga Springs in the semifinals.
Duncanson was 2-0 to advance to the semifinals of the 138-pound bracket.
Duncanson flattened Indian River's Aliczand Berroa-Prens in 19 seconds in the round-of-16, then beat seventh-seeded Kole Haseley of St. Francis, 8-2, in the quarterfinals.
Duncanson, the second seed, will face third-seeded Trey LaChase of Fairport in the semifinals.
Bellis, the sixth seed at 118 pounds, was 2-0 to advance to the semifinals.
Bellis scored a 17-2 technical fall win over Ithaca's Caleb Bergman in the opening round.
In the quarterfinals, Bellis took a 7-0 lead in the opening minute of his match against third-seeded Avery Bowman of Waverly, then held on for a 7-2 win.
Bellis will face second-seeded Kymah Gummow of Indian River in the semifinals.
Cole, the third seed at 126 pounds, was 2-0 to advance to the semifinals.
Cole advanced from the opening round via an injury default win over Deposit-Hancock's Evan Johnson in the round-of-16.
In the quarterfinals, Cole pinned Poquoson's Brayden Bunting in 2:54. Bunting was a state runner-up in Virginia last year.
Cole will face second-seeded Anthony Valls of Chenango Valley in the semifinals.
Ulrich was 3-1 in the 103-pound bracket. He won his opening-round match with a 30-second fall of Blue Ridge's Trinity Lord.
After a loss via technical fall to Lowville's Max Hanselman in the round-of-16, Ulrich scored a 19-3 technical fall over U-E's Vancen Small in 4:44.
Ulrich finished his day with a hard-fought, 3-2, win over St. Francis' Jaxson Tocco.
Howey was 2-1 in the 190-pound bracket. He opened with a pin of Marcellus' Kingston Walzer in 5:24 in the round-of-16.
After a loss via first-period fall to Horseheads' Jaxson Burchard in the quarterfinals, Howey bounced back with a 16-1 technical fall win over Fairport's Trent Myszka in 4:11.
Sophomore Mark McCane stayed alive Monday the hard way, losing via second-period fall to Manhasset's Marcus Davis in the opening round, then winning three straight in wrestlebacks.
McCane started his run with a pin of Marcellus' Gable LaFleur in 4:53, then blanked Towanda's Dom Miller, 5-0.
In his final match of the day, McCane edged Windsor's Luke Beattie, 2-0.
Junior Caden Bradley was 2-2 in the 144-pound bracket.
Bradley pinned Sidney's Anthony Botte in 3:29 in the opening round, then dropped a 5-1 decision to top-seeded Evan Sheils of Lansing in the round-of-16.
Bradley rebounded with a pin of Oxford-Greene's Colin Morlando in 1:41, but was eliminated in a 4-1 loss to Minisink Valley's Alex Nigro.
Freshman Harold Corby went 2-2 on the day in the 103-pound bracket.
After losing by technical fall to Towanda's Mason Harbst in the opening round, Corby bounced back with a 20-second fall of Waverly's Triton Floyd, and a 16-2 major decision over Southwestern's Evan Lescynski.
Corby was eliminated via second-period fall by Chenango Forks' Brody O'Hern.
Senior Aiden Black was 1-2 int he 165-pound bracket, winning his opening-round match-up against Susquehanna Valley's Brodie Howard in a wild 17-11 decision.
Day 2 action begins at 10 a.m. with the semifinals and the "blood round."
