COLLEGE WRESTLING: TIOGA GRAD BELLIS REACHES FINALS OF SOUTHERN SCUFFLE (January 4, 2026)

Caden Bellis, a freshman on the University of Pennsylvania wrestling team, scored a takedown in the closing seconds of his semi-final match Sunday morning to reach the 174-pound finals here at the Southern Scuffle.
Locked in a 1-1 battle with North Dakota State's Max Magayna, Bellis scored a takedown with 5 seconds remaining to pull out a 4-1 decision.
On Saturday, Bellis was 3-0 reach Sunday morning's semifinals.
Bellis, the eighth seed, forged an impressive 15-0 technical fall in 3:41 over Presbyterian's Joshua Henderson in the opening round.
In the round-of-16, Bellis scored a reversal midway through the second 30-second tiebreaker period of overtime to pull out a 3-1 decision over Bellermine's Grant Odell.
In the quarterfinals, Bellis squared off with Army's Andrew Christie, who knocked off top-seeded Nick Hamilton of Virginia in the opening round.
In a scoreless battle, Bellis broke free from Christie's cradle as he was trying to pull him over to his back for a reversal and a quick fall at 4:48.
Bellis will face third-seeded Will Henckel in the finals, which begin on FloWrestling at 3 p.m.
