IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: BOMBARD LEADS BALANCED TIOGA ATTACK IN 83-39 ROUT OF SOUTHERN CAYUGA (January 5, 2026)

POPLAR RIDGE, N.Y. — Junior Jackson Bombard led four Tioga players in double-figures in the Tigers' 83-39 rout of Southern Cayuga here Monday night in IAC Small School boys basketball crossover action.

"I thought we played a good game tonight on both sides of the ball," said Tioga coach Connor Hutchinson. "We were active on the defensive end, which led to easy looks on offense, and that also allowed us to get a lot of guys involved. 

"The scoring was spread around amongst a lot of guys tonight, which was good to see," he noted. "The selflessness on offense tonight, turning down good shots for better shots, and getting everyone involved was probably the highlight of the night in mind. 

"We still have things to work on moving forward," added Hutchinson. "We’ve improved from the start of the season to now, so we will look to continue that as the season progresses."

Bombard knocked down an early 3-pointer and scored nine points in the first quarter, while junior Gavin Kithcart scored five points and senior James Miller added four points to fuel a 20-8 first-quarter run.

Kithcart scored 10 points and Bombard added nine in the second quarter, while senior Brady Landmesser chipped in with six points to fuel Tioga's 27-15 run that extended the lead to 47-22 at the halftime intermission.

Tioga's offense kept clicking in the third quarter. Bombard tossed in 10 more points and Landmesser scored eight points in a 22-6 blitz that put the Tigers up 69-28 entering the final eight minutes.

Bombard led Tioga with 28 points and nine assists, while Kithcart had 19 points and three rebounds, Landmesser scored 16 points and hauled down eight points, and Miller added 14 points.

Tioga, now 4-1, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Groton.
