IAC BOWLING: TIOGA BOYS SWEEP GROTON; LADY TIGERS WIN, 3-1 (January 6, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportGROTON — Charles Holmes and Nick Slater led Tioga to a sweep of Groton in IAC Small School boys bowling action Tuesday afternoon, while Kelsey Helmich paced the Lady Tigers in a 3-1 win here at Memory Lanes.
BOYS
Tioga 4, Groton 0Tioga won total-pinfall by a count of 2,445 to 1,671 against the short-handed Red Hawks.
Holmes led the Tigers with a 526 series, including a 204 in the third game, and Slater rolled a 512.
Kris Swagger shot a 480 in the win, while Austin Mumble had a 465, Markel Watkins added a 445, and Aaron Belles tacked on a 388.
Elijah Brehm led Groton with a 522 series.
GIRLS
Tioga 3, Groton 1Tioga won the first game 637-597 and the third game 697-525 to overcome Groton's 680-596 win in the second game. The Tigers won the total-pinfall count of 1,930 to 1,802.
Helmich led Tioga with 531 series, including a 202 in the third game, while Liberty Magner shot a 492, Kelsey Ellis added a 421, and Madison Joyce tacked on a 294.
Tioga returns to action Thursday when it hosts Newark Valley at the Valley Bowling Center.
