NTL JV BOYS BASKETBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY RUNS OFF EARLY IN 47-20 WIN OVER SAYRE (January 7, 2026)

SAYRE — Cowanesque Valley raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 47-20 win over Sayre here Tuesday evening in NTL Small School junior varsity boys basketball action.

CV led 11-3 after the firs quarter, then outscored Sayre, 17-9, in the second quarter to take a 28-12 lead into the halftime break.

The Indians put to rest any doubts in the outcome with a 14-2 third-quarter blitz.

Tyrese Gamby led Sayre with nine points and six steals, while Dom Mezzatesta scored eight points and hauled down 10 rebounds, Quinn Chandler grabbed six rebounds, and Blake Zingeser added four rebounds and five assists.

Sayre returns to action Thursday when it hosts NEB.
