STAC BOWLING: WAVERLY SWEEPS OWEGO IN STAC CENTRAL / EAST CLASH (January 7, 2026)
Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY — The Waverly and Owego boys bowling teams have built a nice rivalry since the Wolverines joined the STAC two years ago.
This season, the conference has combined divisions with the Central and East competing as one, and the West and Metro also competing together. With only two of the six teams in the Central/East qualifying for the four-team STAC championship tournament, every win is vital. Waverly came into Tuesday’s clash tied for third at 5-5 with Owego in fifth at 4-6.
The Wolverines took a major step in the right direction, sweeping the match, 5-0.
Meanwhile, the Waverly girls recorded a 5-0 win as well to improve to 14-1 while the River Hawks slipped to 0-15.
