STAC WRESTLING: WAVERLY ROLLS TO 53-24 WIN OVER CHENANGO VALLEY (January 8, 2026)
WAVERLY'S STOTLER RECORDS 100TH CAREER WINValley Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Waverly racked up four technical falls, to go along with three pins in a 53-24 win over Chenango Valley here Thursday night in STAC Central Division wrestling action.
After splitting the first two weight classes, the Wolverines won seven of the next eight bouts to take an insurmountable 41-12 lead.
Seventh-grader Triton Floyd pinned CV's Andrew Valls at 103 pounds in 4:46 to give the Wolverines a brief 6-0 lead.
Alexander Valls evened the match with a pin at 110 pounds, but freshman Avery Bowman gave Waverly the lead for good at 118 pounds with a 17-2 technical fall of Lewis Wolcott to make it 11-6.
Junior Rhylee Stotler won his 100th career match with a pin of Travis White in 2:56 at 126 pounds to extend the lead to 17-6.
Stotler is the third in his family to win 100 matches at Waverly. Ethan, a 2020 grad, had 174 wins, and Connor, a 2023 grad, had 102 wins.
Senior Hudson Sink kept it rolling for the Wolverines with a 7-4 decision of Armando DiFulvio at 132 pounds, and senior Daltton Davis followed with an 18-2 technical fall of Devin Mahakian at 138 pounds to make it 25-6.
After a CV fall at 144 pounds closed the gap to 25-11, junior Parker Larson forged a 17-1 technical fall of Maxwell Becker at 150 pounds to push the lead to 30-6.
Senior Cooper Robinson, who recorded his 100th win earlier this season, notched Waverly's fourth tech fall of the night, beating Jestin Bennett, 16-1, to make it 35-6.
Junior Joey Mack registered Waverly's fastest fall of the night, pinning Nicholas Aftuck in 1:42 at 165 pounds to extend the lead to 41-6 and clinch the win for the Wolverines.
The Warriors scored a pair of first-period pins at 175 and 190 pounds, and Waverly junior Matthias Welles and senior Troy Beeman received forfeits at 215 and 285 pounds, respectively, to finish off the night.
Waverly returns to action this weekend at the Southern Tier Memorial at the LeCom Center in Elmira.
The Wolverines, now 10-1, close out the duals season next week, wrestling at Chenango Forks Monday night, and hosting Tioga Saturday.
