ELMIRA — Sayre junior Jordan Brown won both his matches Friday to reach the semifinals of the third annual Southern Tier Memorial here Friday at the Lecom Event Center, while senior Mikyah Brown is still alive in the consolation bracket for the Lady Redskins.

Brown, the third seed in the 175-pound bracket, opened his day with a dominating 18-0 technical fall win over Bellefonte's Carson Crawford.

In the quarterfinals, Brown gave up a first-period takedown to Chenango Forks' Bryden Fry, but evened the score early in the second period with a takedown.

He took a 7-3 lead with four near-fall points midway through the second period, then finished it for a fall at 3:37.

Brown will face second-seeded Greg Golden of Thomas A. Edison, who was 2-0 with two technical falls.

Freshman Bryan Roof was 1-2 in the 118-pound bracket. His lone win was a 16-3 major decision over South Williamsport's Wes Hamman in the first round of wrestlebacks.

Roof was eliminated via a 6-4 decision against Corning's Daniel Bretch.

Freshman Amicio Lamanna was 0-2 at 126 pounds, and sophomore Mason Allwood was 0-2 at 132 pounds.

BROWN ALIVE IN WRESTLEBACKS FOR LADY REDSKINS
Mikyah Brown was 3-1 in the 165-pound bracket for the Lady Redskins.

Brown opened with a pin of Lockport's Celyna Campbell in 3:58, then lost via fall to Oneonta's Nathan Cohn in the round-of-16.

After receiving a forfeit in her first wrestleback match, Brown pinned Windsor's Genevieve Criddle in 73 seconds.

Sophomore Chaylynn Roloson was 1-2 in the 145-pound bracket. Her lone win was a 45-second fall of Susquehanna Valley's Ayanna Huften in the opening round.

Freshman Isabelle Stamile was 0-2 at 94 pounds.

Action resumes Saturday at 9 a.m.
