ELMIRA — Tioga juniors Amelia Toomey and Kyah Nelson reached the semifinals of the Southern Tier Memorial here Friday at the LeCom Events Center, and senior RaeAnne is still seeking a spot on the podium from the consolation bracket.

Tioga is in 13th place in the 47-team field with 56 points, well off the pace set by front-running Niagara-Wheatfield with 124.5 points. Lockport is in second 90.5 points, Fulton is in third with 82, Homer is in fourth with 78.5 points, and U-E is in fifth with 75.5 points. Waverly is in ninth place with 68.5 points

Toomey was 3-0 to reach the semifinals in the 138-pound bracket, with her longest bout lasting 66 seconds.

Toomey only needed 10 seconds in and opening-round pin of Walton-Delhi's Riley Emreich. She followed that up with a 66-seconds fall of Fulton's Sahara-Lynne Raymond in the round-of-16.

In the quarterfinals, Toomey decked Canandaigua Academy's Ryleigh Fray in 38 seconds.

Nelson was 2-0 to reach the semifinals of the 185-pound weight class, with her longest match lasting 41 seconds.

Nelson scored a 41-second fall of Hornell's Jaylynn Towner in the round-of-16, then decked Harpursville-BGA-CV's Leila Whitman in 23 seconds in the quarterfinals.

Nelson will square off with Khamya'J Maxwell of Lockport in the semifinals.

Feeko was 3-1 on the day in the 120-pound bracket. She started off with a pin of Sidney's Isabelle Joseph in 1:21, then received a forfeit in the round-of-32.

In the round-of-16, Feeko decked Sherburne-Earlville's Autumn Miller in 61 seconds.

Senior Mia Hall was 3-2 in the 114-pound bracket. After losing her opening-round match, Hall rebounded with three straight falls, including back-to-back 28-second pins.

Sophomore Cora Szymański was 2-2 in the 138-pound bracket, scoring a pair of first-period falls for her wins.

Freshman Grace Howey was 2-2 in the 114-pound bracket, winning her first two bouts via fall.

Senior Sophia Haney was 2-2 in the 132-pound bracket. After losing her opening-round match, Haney bounced back with a fall in 1:11 and a 17-4 technical fall.

Junior Marcy Moniz was 1-2 in the 152-pound bracket, winning her opening-round match via fall.

Freshman Emily Moniz was 0-2 at 235 pounds.

Action resumes Saturday at 9 a.m.
