THE WEEK AHEAD: MAJORITY OF THIS WEEK'S ACTION IS ON THE ROAD (January 11, 2026)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — It's a fairly busy week for Valley teams, but the majority of the action is on the road.

There are 31 events on the schedule this week, including seven on Tuesday and six on Saturday, but only 11 are home events for Valley schools.

The biggest example is Athens. There are 10 events scheduled for Athens teams this week, but only one is at home.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (4)
•  Sayre hosts Williamson in an NTL Small School girls hoop contest.

•  Waverly hosts Susquehanna Valley in STAC bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

TUESDAY (7)
•  The Tioga girls host arch-rival Candor, while the Tioga boys travel to play their Tioga County rival.

•  The Waverly boys host Addison in a non-league boys hoop tilt.

WEDNESDAY (5)
•  Tioga hosts Moravia and Horseheads in a double-dual wrestling match.

THURSDAY (4)
•  The Waverly girls are at Horseheads for the STAC wrestling duals.

FRIDAY (5)
•  The Athens girls host Wellsboro in an NTL Large School Division match-up.

•  The Tioga boys host Southern Cayuga in an IAC Small School crossover tilt.

SATURDAY (6)
•  Waverly hosts Tioga in a match-up of two of the best Division II wrestling teams in New York State.

•  Waverly hosts state boys hoop powerhouse Seton Catholic in a matinee affair.

•  Sayre hosts Canton in an a matinee NTL boys hoop contest.
