NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: WYALUSING ROLLS PAST ATHENS, 58-32 (January 13, 2026)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing took advantage of a cold shooting night by Athens, and rolled to a 58-32 win here Tuesday night in NTL Large School boys basketball action.

Senior Nick Grazul scored six points for the Wildcats in the first quarter, but Wyalusing's Myles Kershner pumped in nine and Shay Gartland canned a 3-pointer to lead the Rams to a 16-10 lead after the opening stanza.

Jared VanDeMark scored seven points in the second quarter, including a late 3-pointer that gave the Rams a 29-19 lead at the halftime intermission.

Grazul scored all seven of Athens' points in the third quarter, but Wyalusing extended its lead with a 15-7 run, fueled by Parker Cunningham and Tyler Caplan, who combined for 13 points. The Rams led 44-26 heading into the final eight minutes.

Wyalusing put the game away with a 14-6 run in the fourth quarter.

Grazul led Athens with 15 points and senior James Friend added nine.

Caplan led Wyalusing with 19 points, while Kershner scored 13 points, and Cunningham added 12.

Athens, now 6-5, travels to Wellsboro Thursday.
