Towanda freshman
Maris Cobb joined her on the podium at states as the Lady Knight also earned a medal. Cobb helped Towanda claim the NTL title, while taking third at the District IV, Class AA Championships to be the "
Newcomer of the Year."
Towanda’s
Mike Maurer built a powerhouse team on the girls’ side, dominating the NTL, and nearly earning a state berth out of the always tough District IV field. He’s the "
Coach of the Year" for girls.
The
All-Region first team consists of Kosek, Towanda’s Cobb, and Izzy Larson, Corning’s Olivia Martinec, and Kateland Dininny, Horseheads’ Mackenzie Baker, Elmira’s Ella Devlin, and Athens’ Alissa Vough.
On the
second team are Newark Valley’s Hadley Merrill, Owego’s Abigail McHugh, and Jaelyn Chrysler, NPM’s Leila Garverick, and Jaci Fairchild, Towanda’s Mary-Kate Eberlin, and Kenzie Brown, and NEB’s Sophie Bennett.
On the
third team are Corning’s Abigail Wagner, Newark Valley’s Brook Illsley, NEB’s Ruth Laudermilch, Horseheads’ Suzanne Sydlansky, Owego’s Stella Palladino, Elmira’s Madelyn Wise, and Cowanesque Valley's duo of Lainey Hackett, and Natalie Yonker.
The
All-newcomer team consists of Cobb, Garverick, Merrill, Owego’s Sarah Heath, and Towanda’s Lila Larson.
