NTL JV BOYS BASKETBALL: ATHENS RALLIES TO TOP WYALUSING, 41-37 (January 14, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING — Athens countered Wyalusing's big third quarter with a bigger fourth quarter in a come-from-behind, 41-37, win here Tuesday night in NTL junior varsity boys basketball action.
Athens led 8-7 after the first quarter, and the game was tied at 14-14 at the half.
Wyalusing used a 15-8 third-quarter run to take a 29-22 lead into the fourth quarter.
Aiden Vanderpool knocked down an early 3-pointer and scored eight points in the fourth quarter, and Eli Wayman added six points to fuel the Wildcats' game-closing 19-8 run to pull out the win.
Vanderpool led a balanced Athens offense with 11 points, while Alex McQuay scored eight points, Wayman added six points, and Griffin Smith and Dom Robbins chipped in with four points apiece.
Athens returns to action Thursday at Wellsboro.
