NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: OFFENSIVE STUGGLES LEADS TO ATHENS' 41-26 LOSS AT WYALUSING (13 PHOTOS) (January 14, 2026)

WYALUSING — Athens struggled on the offensive end of the floor for the majority of the game and Wyalusing took advantage in a 41-26 win here Thursday afternoon in NTL Large School Division girls basketball action.

Always a tough place to play, Wyalusing had an even more distinct home-court advantage with the student body on hand to pack the gym during a school day.

Wyalusing led 9-5 after the first quarter, then used a 13-6 run in the second quarter to take a 22-11 lead into the halftime locker room.

The Wildcats finally found its footing in the third quarter with sophomore Alissa Vough scoring five points and sophomore Allie Kemp adding a 3-pointer, but Wyalusing matched Athens in the stanza and led 33-22 heading into the fourth quarter.

Wyalusing held Athens to one field goal in the fourth quarter, and outscored the Wildcats, 8-4, to seal the win.

Junior McKenna Jarvis led Athens with 14 points, while Vough and Kemp added five points apiece.

Emily Johns led Wyalusing with 16 points and Alyssa Boots added 13.

Athens, now 5-7, hosts Wellsboro Friday.

JV: Athens 45, Wyalusing 21: Alexis Mayo led Athens with 20 points.
