IAC BOWLING: FIRST-PLACE LADY TIGERS SWEEP O-M; TIOGA BOYS DROP 3-1 DECISION (January 14, 2026)

WATKINS GLEN — The Tioga girls picked up four more points in a sweep of short-handed Odessa-Montour Wednesday in IAC bowling action, while the Tioga boys dropped a 3-1 decision here at Harborside Lanes. (Also info on three previous matches.)

GIRLS
Tioga 4, O-M 0

Kelsey Helmich led Tioga, which currently sits atop the Large School standings, with a 425 series, while Sabrina Ellis shot a 395, and Kelsey Ellis had a 381.

Kate Bleiler added a 370 for Tioga, whileMadison Joyce tacked on a 339, and Liberty Magner chipped in with a 329.

O-M's only bowler, Abbey Grady, rolled a 335.

Tioga 4, Watkins Glen 0
On Tuesday, Helmich led Tioga to a sweep of short-handed Watkins Glen.

Helmich rolled a 478, while Ellis shot a 376, Ellis had a 359, and Magner added a 347. 

Tioga 4, Newark Valley 0
In a sweep of Newark Valley last week, Magner led Tioga with a 500 series, while Helmich shot a 480, and Beleiler rolled a 403, Ellis had a 396, and Ellis added a 370.

Tioga 4, Union Springs 0
On Friday, Tioga swept Union Springs, led by Helmich, who shot a 508, and Magner, who rolled a 502.

Ellis had a 437 series in the win, while Ellis added a 422, and Bleiler tacked on a 331.

BOYS
O-M 3, Tioga 1

After splitting a pair of close games, O-M came up big in the third game for a 3-1 win over Tioga Wednesday afternoon.

The Grizzlies won the first game 728-720, but the Tigers bounced back for an 836-832 win in the second game. O-M closed out the match with a 766-694 for a total-pinfall win of 2,326 to 2,250.

Kris Swagger led Tioga with a 503, while Nick Slater shot a 466, and Charles Holmes had a 459.

Austin Mumbulo had a 420 for the Tigers, while Aaron Belles added a 392, and Markel Watkins tacked on a 357.

Tioga 3, Watkins Glen 1

On Tuesday, Tioga won the first two games, and held on for a 3-1 win over Watkins Glen.

The Tigers won the first game 804-733 and the second game 809-793, but the Lake Hawks won the third game 872-802. Tioga won the total-pinfall by a count of 2,415 to 2,398.

Slater banged out a 659 series on games of 222, 267, and 170, while Mumbulo shot a 490, and Watkins had a 420.

Holmes had a 405 for the Tigers, while Swagler added a 368, and Emery Medcalf tacked on a 365.

Tioga 3, Newark Valley 1
Slater banged out a 674 series on games of 246, 192, and 236, and Holmes rolled a 630 on games of 195, 201, and 234 to lead Tioga to a 3-1 win over Newark Valley.

Tioga won the first game 979-840, but the Cardinals bounced back to win a 901-897 decision in the second game. The Tigers closed out the match with a 987-874 win in the third game for a total-pinfall win of 2,845 to 2,615.

Swagler shot a 548 for Tioga, while Mumbulo had a 546, Watkins added a 430, and Belles tacked on a 487.

Tioga 4, Union Springs 0
The Tigers rolled to a sweep of Union Springs with a total-pinfall count advantage of 2,711 to 1,722.

Holmes led Tioga with a 609 series and Swagger rolled a 604, while Slater shot a 565.

Austin Mumbulo had 476 for the Tigers, while Belles added a 431, and Watkins tacked on a 425.
