Valley Sports Report
SAYRE — Troy is the class of the NTL, and Sayre is in a total rebuild, so the results were pretty much as expected here Tuesday night as the Trojans rolled to a big girls basketball win.
Troy scored 22 unanswered points in the first quarter, and extended the lead to 38-0 at the half.
Freshman Allia Bennett put Sayre on the board with a bucket in the third quarter, and senior Harley Brown scored Sayre's only points in the fourth quarter.
Troy played its bench throughout the majority of the second half, winning 67-4.
Senior Rylee Lantz grabbed five rebounds, blocked five shots, and recorded two steals to lead Sayre, while sophomore McKenna Parrish and freshman Afftyn VanDuzer each had three rebounds, Bennett blocked two shots, and sophomore Brooklyn Roberts had two steals.
Sayre returns to action Thursday at North Penn-Mansfield.
