SECTION IV WRESTLING: TIOGA DOMINATES EARLY IN DIVISION II SEMIFINAL ROUT OF WDA (18 PHOTOS) (January 21, 2026)

TIOGA CENTER — Top-seeded Tioga won the first seven weights to secure a 66-16 victory over Walton / Delaware Academy in the semifinals of the Section IV Division II Dual Meet Wrestling Championships here Wednesday.

With 24 forfeit points awaiting the Tigers in the upper weights, they only needed to pick up 19 team points to advance to the finals, a task easily accomplished.

“I'm really proud,” coach Kris Harrington said. “I thought that our guys came out ready to wrestle.”

It started off with Drayke Ulrich receiving a forfeit at 103 pounds, followed by Parker Jackson recovering from a 7-0 deficit to pinned Linkin Backus in 3:06 at 110.

DeclanMckee added a fall over Hayden Robinson in 5:14 at 118 and Logan Bellis Picked up a forfeit at 126, giving Tioga an insurmountable 24-0 cushion.

At 132, Kadin Cole decked Kohl Muller in 3:14, then Brayden MacWhinnie dispatched Hunter Lambrecht in 2:53.

“(We) beat some really highly-ranked competitive young men, and we're getting better,” Harrington said. “As the year goes on we're getting a little bit better. We're getting healthy.”

The Warriors chose to forfeit to Jayden Duncanson at 144, giving the Tigers a 42-0 advantage while allowing Justin Somers to move up to 150 and pick up his 31st win of the season.

Somers picked up a 15-3 major decision over Caden Bradley. Taking a 14-3 lead into the third period, WDA was hoping for a tech. fall, but Bradley allowed just one escape point.

Marco Possemato took a forfeit for the Warriors at 157, then Jaxon Backus notched his 29th victory of the season with a 57-second fall against Aiden Black.

Carson Labour (175), James Howey (190), Jamie Woodcock (215) and Mark McCane (285) received forfeits to close out the match.

“I'm really happy about where we're at right now,” Harrington added as his team prepared for the championship match against Chenango Valley, a 41-36 upset winner over Waverly.
